Seychelles Weeklynamed and shamedIntelvision

The Le Nouveau Seychelles Weekly newspaper claimed many people have called their office to complain about the services offered by Intelvision.

The paper in its 28th September publication wrote, “the criticisms were more pronounced in respect of its Internet services, which are more offline than online, although other areas of its services were also singled out for criticism.”

Intelvision, which commenced operation in October 2004, is one of the three local ISPs alongside Atlas and Kokonet, but also provides telephone and cable TV services.

Like its competitors, Intelvision entirely relies on satellite technology for connectivity. In the past all ISPs have experienced slow connectivity because of alleged bandwidth problems.

However, Seychelles Weekly pointed out that “Intelvision has substantially less subscribers to its Internet services and should not by any stretch of the imagination, be experiencing such problems.”

The paper said the complaints are not only limited to the Internet services, but also about the customer as well, which they say “is more or less non existent

The problems are so bad,” wrote the Seychelles Weekly “that even tourists who visited our islands and have experienced their services first hand, have surprisingly gone out of their way to post their complaints on the Internet.”

The company which this week is celebrating its 3rd anniversary with massive discount offers, states on its website that:
we are devoted to listening to and understanding the individual needs of our Customers. We will strive to be your provider of choice by fostering an environment of teamwork, innovation, quality and efficiency to achieve a common goal of TOTAL Customer Satisfaction.

So far there’s been no public reaction from Intelvision regarding the Seychelles Weekly’s article.

Editor’s Note: I noted that all the customers’ quotes from the Seychelles Weekly’s article are originally from the Seychelles Digital blog, but no mention are made of it by the paper.

The highly ethical [sic] editor of LNSW, Volcere, not acknowledging the work of someone else. How can that be? [sic]

I used to be with intelvision (I am no longer in Seychelles and I am honestly amazed by the speed of the internet in Europe). They often had a failure of their satellite connection or some crap like that. Some time their DNS did not work and some other times it was the DHCP.

I think that I am really going to have a shock when coming back to Seychelles.

Hi Times Eye,

Thanks for your comment. My frustration with Intelvision is that it takes its customers for granted (contrary to its stated policy). Have you noticed that there's little or no communication at all from the company, informed customers on what's going on, even when they have already paid for a particular service. Sometimes you see yourself waiting for over three months without a single word (unless you call them)!

Intelvision is so far the worst Media Service Provider i have ever encountered. Never in my life have i seen such slow broadband internet. It is so slow that it normally takes up to 5-6 minutes to loads a page (note that this is worse than a dial-up connection).
The price we pay for such slow internet, prices starting from SR320 pcm (£20 per calendar month) is far more the most expensive broadband service in the world according to my research. i have removed their cable tv service as it was appaling. some channels never worked even i was paying for them. This government needs to do something about this abuse of service on the part of intelvision. we are being conned on a large scale without realising it. As for myself i refuse to acknowledge any statements of good service from IntelviCrap!

As an x employee at the intlvision company i wont lie, yes it is by far the worst of the worst company ever. They take customers for fools and does not care how we feel. Ask employee to lie to customers to cover there asses and spend time conspiring against each other. The worst department is there call centre with a very unprofessional and very rud supervisor, this company should be seriously looked into. Maybe what they need is a good competition, maybe just maybe they will stop ther incompetence.
